Barmudas was born in Florence in 2017. The father was a punk rocker Bovver Boy and the mother was an English glam rocker Wanton Lady, both born in the 70s, both boots equipped, both fucking crazy.
The four (maybe unwanted) sons, after have been kicked out from home, have finally succeeded in making their parents proud, playing a dirty glittered shiny cheap mixture of wild rock’n’roll and killer ass-shaking tunes.
In 2018 AREA PIRATA records released their first single: “Rock the Barmudas” wich obtained excellent reviews in the European music press and the band started playing live almost everywhere they could, in big festivals and huge stages as well as little pubs or dirty streets, gaining themselves a name and the reputation of rock’n’roll machines. In 2020 the Covid Emergency stopped them just some weeks before the Sardinian tour and the scheduled gigs at the Cavern Club in Liverpool for the IPO Festival.
The 4 pigheaded guys didn’t lose heart and went on working on their debut album “Every Day is Saturday Night”, out for Area Pirata on the 11th of October 2021. In these songs it’s possible to trace back sparkles of Slade, Sweet, New York Dolls and much more, all shaked togheter with a secret component in a strong heavy Barmudas drink. These sparkles are going to cause a big blast that will contribute to keep alive the sacred fire of dirty rock’n’roll, even in troubled times. An explosion of energy, wildness and urge to party hard.
8 brand new tracks you will not be able to stop from stomping on your heads!
A FEW THINGS YOU MUST KNOW:
Barmudas take their band’s name from the Barmudas district in Florence’s old town, an immaginary triangular neighborhood, still unknown to the hordes of hungry zombi-tourists looking for cheap italian food, style and art; a place infested and hounted with outsiders, loosers, boozers, and strange people with poor taste in look, music and artistic stuff (often disappearing into the void after passing the night getting high in the area). Barmudas is today the last bastion against the invasion of hipsters, indie posers, coffee shakers, cover bands, fashion influencers and snob-intellectual people crowding downtown Florence.
