about

I Barbieri is one the most amazing Italian beat band from the mid 80s.
Founded in November 1987 thanks to Michele Landi (former drummer of Pikes in Panic, another great 80s Garage band).
In 1988 they released their debut single "W il Lunedì", where two original song are played along with a cover of Uragani "Con Quella Voce" (originally was "I Can't Explain" by the Who). They become one of the best band of the Italian Beat rising scene in the mid 80s.
In 1990 they released an Ep "Se Vuoi Me" produced by Toast Records. They got a new line up without the organ. They give then a song, "Non Importa", for the compilation called "Punto Zero VoL.1" and made dy Toast Rec too.
They went on to play live all around Italy until 1994 when they changed their line up again to release their album "Mondi Diversi" (Toast Records).
Later they split up but finally I Barbieri reformed in 2008 to join as headliner to the Primavera Beat Festival and then they played in many live concerts like Festival Beat supporting the Trashmen in 2010, Twiggy Festival in Rome...

Now they recording a brand-new 7"Ep with 4 songs: 2 original songs "Il Mondo Gira" and "Io Non Aspetto". Another song was written by Ferrari from Ragazzi di Pietra (historical Beat band from Milan active in the mid 60s) and arranged by the band. Finally a cover of "Social End Product" of The Bluestars, an unknown New Zealand 60s Punk band, but sung in Italian.

Well, have a listen to this record and you'll see they're in a better shape than ever!!
